  • How will we receive our photos?
Approximately 3-4 weeks after your session, you will receive a link to a gallery. From there, you can select the pre-determined number of free downloads and, if desired, purchase the remainder of the gallery for a flat fee (as determined by the session type). Print products, albums, and wall art are also available for purchase.
  • Do you travel?
Yes! I love traveling to my clients. Please note that travel fees will apply.
  • Can we meet before our session?
Absolutely. I think it’s important that the chemistry is right before we take our first picture. I am happy to meet with you in person or in a virtual space so we can get to know each other before the day of your session.
  • What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
Things happen, I get it. Cars break down, people get sick. It's no fun for anyone. That said, I believe it's important to respect other's time, so if you absolutely can't make your session, I ask that you let me know at least 48 hours beforehand. A cancellation with no reschedule date will result in a forfeit of the retainer paid. If you need to reschedule your session, a one-time transfer of the retainer will be allowed. Any subsequent reschedule request will result in a forfeiture of the retainer and a new retainer to be paid for the rescheduled date.
  • What is the payment structure?
For portrait sessions, a retainer in the amount of 50% of your session fee is due at the time of booking (this secures your date, so keep in mind that until the retainer is paid, I cannot guarantee availability). The remaining 50% will be due a week before your session.
  • What gear do you use?
I'm a Canon girl through and through, so I shoot with my trusted Canon 5D. I always carry a variety of lenses, from my 24-105mm to my "nifty" 50mm lens and also a wide angle 35mm lens.
  • What is the booking process?
My favorite question! Once we have selected a date for your session, I will send you my contract to review and sign, along with the invoice for photography services. A portion of the overall fee will be due at that time, so you'll have the ability to submit your payment through the portal once the contract is signed. After that, you'll receive a booking confirmation and you're good to go!
  • Why do I have to sign a contract?
While it's nice to believe that nothing will go wrong and everyone will do what they say they'll do, we still need to protect ourselves. The contract we both sign is there to protect you as the client and me as the photographer. It outlines the terms of payment, the limitations of liability, and sets expectations so everything is clear and understood before we take our first picture.
  • Will our photos be posted publicly on your site or social media?
I always love to show off my amazing clients, but I respect your privacy and allow each client to decide whether or not they want their photos displayed publicly.
  • When Is The Best Time To Take My Maternity Photos?
Ideally, you want to be in your third trimester, so there's plenty of baby bump to show off - but you also want to make sure you're not so far into your last trimester that it's difficult to move, because then the session won't be fun for anyone. I would aim for early in your 8th month, if possible, and be sure to get your session scheduled as soon as you can to secure the date.
  • Where do you hold your maternity sessions?
I usually do these outdoors to take advantage of natural light and the environment, but that vibe doesn’t always suit every couple, so I can also come to your home and photograph you where you’re most comfortable.
  • Help! We don't know what to wear!
Don't worry. I'm here to help you create the perfect look. Once your session is booked, I will send you a style guide to help you put your outfits together, and we will be in constant contact leading up to the day of your session to make sure you're comfortable with what you're wearing.
  • How long will our session take?
Most sessions last about an hour - sometimes more, sometimes less. I've had sessions where we're all in the flow that time has no meaning and we're shooting for close to two hours. I've had others where we have a clear and simple vision and can knock out the whole thing in forty-five minutes.
  • Do you help with posing?
Of course! Most people tend to get a little stiff in front of the camera (myself included!) so I'll be with you every step of the way to guide you through poses and activities so you'll look natural and comfortable.
